Why choose a pedagogue

as your voice teacher?

Picture
The term "vocal pedagogy" focuses on voice instruction as both an art and a science. Vocal pedagogues use their specialized knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to help students understand the vocal process to improve the quality of their voices. With the introduction of vocal science, we now realize that and like athletes the voice needs to be trained. There is not a one size fits-all prescription for teaching voice. Just as the technique used for ballet do not prepare you for hip-hop dance vocalists are specialize vocal athletes. Therefore training in opera does prepare you to sing pop-Rock. The voice is a muscle that must be developed physically, before vocal science teachers taught experientially based on what worked for them individually. Voice pedagogy does not have a one size fits all approach to teaching - a pedagogue can pinpoint unique mistakes by attributing incorrect sounds to a specific failure in the vocal process, thus enabling the student develop a strong, controlled voice. Pedagogy is voice science in action and takes much guesswork out of teaching! I am fortunate to be one of twenty pedagogues in the world to a hold Master's of Music in Pop-Vocal Pedagogy.
